"Forrest Gump" is a movie that everyone loves to watch. The movie is based on a man that is more slower witted than others. Forrest's life includes many obstacles that he has to overcome but he finds love along the way. The movie contained lessons that could help everyone in any situation.
1. "Life is like a box of chocolates."
You never know what you're gonna get. This is a famous line from this movie because Forrest repeats it throughout the movie. Many obstacles were put in Forrest's way and they were all unexpected. Forrest was nervous at times when things were thrown at him but he was successfully able to overcome all of his obstacles with a smile on his face.
2. Your happiness is what really matters.
Forrest had one a great amount of money but that did not make him want to stop doing what he loved. Forrest would do things such as mowing the yard because it made him happy. Life is too short to do anything that does not make you happy.
3. Stay loyal to your friends.
In the beginning of the movie, viewers are shown the instant friendship that Forrest made with Jenny. Forrest would say that Forrest and Jenny were like "peas and carrots," a friendship like that is sometimes hard to find. Even when Jenny did not deserve to have a friend like Forrest he never left her side. Jenny went down many wrong paths, but Forrest never left her side. This is a perfect example that we should not leave out friends side no matter what bad decisions they make in life.
4. Don't be afraid to deal with bad situations.
Death is a hard thing for anyone to deal with in their lifetime. We become attached to people that we feel like we can not live without. Forrest faced every situation head on and came out of them even stronger.
5. Don't be afraid to fall in love.
Love can be scary because you never know who you will end up with. You should never give up on finding the love of your life. Throughout the movie, Forrest never stopped chasing Jenny, and in the end, his efforts paid off. Love is something that takes time and work, but it always works out in the end if you never give up.
