We know we are all Cardinal-haters, T.Haas-selfie-takers, wrecking ball-riders, Lakers...but what else makes a "Laker for a lifetime?"

  1. You can’t go a day without hearing the words “Laker for a lifetime.”
  2. If someone asks if you’re a Laker you reply with “hell yeah!”
  3. You know you must have all blizzard supplies ready by October.
  4. You have an outfit ready for all sorts of weather ready for a single day.
  5. And you’ll have to change throughout the day to keep up with the weather.
  6. If its raining, or there’s even a slight chance of rain, every single girl is rocking Hunter Boots (Come on, we all know they’re cute and we love them).
  7. Those Hunter Boots also work as snow boots but they are not warm at all.
  8. It’s snowing? Yeah, you mean it is a blizzard.
  9. Walking around campus is basically like walking through a wind tunnel.
  10. That cute umbrella you own…yeah it always flips while walking through that wind tunnel.
  11. You conquered your fear of heights thanks to the Little Mac Bridge.
  12. You don’t walk under the blue house thing by the Lake Halls.
  13. You don’t mind going to the library because it is so pretty but you do mind the walk and having to fight for a spot.
  14. You own 500 GV t-shirts because you received them for free at events you only attended for the free shirt and food.
  15. You have to get a selfie with T. Haas.
  16. You literally cant see 15 feet in front of you because of the snow, but you still have class.
  17. The clock tower always catches you by surprise even though it chimes every 15 minutes.
  18. You’re outside waiting for a bus for a half hour and FOUR 48s show up at the same time.
  19. Forever waiting for snow-day emails.
  20. You feel a sense of accomplishment if you have a picture of you on the wrecking ball.
  21. Louie the Laker and T. Haas are your favorite celebrities.
  22. Going to Meijer is a huge deal.
  23. Guys brag about the guy-to-girl ratio to their friends at other schools.
  24. Wearing a ski mask to class is normal in the winter.
  25. And so is riding a razor scooter when there is no snow.
  26. People always ask about the Lake Effect snow and you want to cry just thinking about it.
  27. Every girl has an anchor of some sort in their possession.
  28. Going to Speed Way for Slurpees is the highlight of your week.
  29. You cringe whenever someone mentions the other valley or you see a red bird.
  30. You feel like you are about to enter "The Hunger Games" while getting ready to register for classes.
  31. Menna's and Papa John's are your staple foods…and don’t forget about the Ben and Jerry’s.
  32. Laker Bowls…enough said.
  33. Going to downtown Grand Rapids is one of your favorite activities.
  34. Standing on the bus is your worst nightmare.
  35. You own a Camel Back water bottle.
  36. The “sex talk” from Transitions will never be forgotten.
  37. You have friends from all over the place.
  38. Half of the campus is from Chicago.
  39. There is always a themed party going on.
  40. You or one of your friends owns a hammock.
  41. The thought of using a snowmobile or a dog sled team has crossed your mind more than five times just on your commute to class.
  42. Grand Haven trips are a must.
  43. You know we are the complete opposite of a “Dry Campus.”
  44. It snows during at least one football game.
  45. You see a bus and think about how you could get free tuition.
  46. You are not sure if we are keeping the ANCHOR UP or putting the ANCHOR DOWN.
  47. The Battle of the Valleys is one of the best parts of the year.
  48. You have accepted the fact that you will be a Laker for a lifetime…whether that’s paying loans for years or forever showing love for GV.
  49. You bleed black, blue and white with Laker Pride!
  50. Grand Valley is your home away from home.
