You Know You Love School When...
CIPAG

School is quite an experience, isn't it? We've been in school since we were four or five years old, and for some of us, there is still a lot of school time left. But, could it just be that we love school, and are perfectly okay with the prospect of attending every day?

Sure, all of us hate Mondays, and there aren't that many of us that enjoy homework – but, there are a lot of us that absolutely love school. Do you love school?

Not sure? Well, you know you love school if you love making your class schedule every semester. It gives you giddiness to look ahead and imagine yourself so many months from now. Even the thought of picking boring classes excited you to a certain extent because you know that you'll find a way to get through them.

To prepare for your classes, you get all the best school supplies. You decorate your notebooks and color-coordinate your folders. Organizing your supplies gives you immense satisfaction, even though by the time mid-semester rolls around you will no longer use this plethora of organization, it makes you happy to think that this semester just might be the semester that you stick to your organization goals.

When you're on campus, you realize that the possibilities are endless. Do you go to the library and just explore the shelves or study? Do you hit the on-campus gym and get your blood pumping? Are there any clubs meeting right now that you could join and expand your interest? Do you go grab a bite to eat? And even then, the options of food are endless! What do you want today? A sandwich? Pizza? Soup? Salad? Pasta? A burrito bowl? Thinking of the adventure excites you!

Sure, homework is no walk in the park, but you like having homework because it gives you something to do, it gives you structure. When you cross an assignment off of your to-do list, you grin from ear to ear! But you still find yourself procrastinating a lot, because hey, we're only human!

You know you love school when you look forward to your major concentrated classes. You love the feeling of sitting in a class, and not only completely understanding the material, but looking for ways to expand the discussion. These are not the classes you spend looking constantly at your watch.

You know you love school when half the clothes you wear on a regular basis are school apparel, and you proudly use the low budget gym bag, water bottle, and pens that you got at orientation. They will be with you until graduation!

You know you love school even though you can't wake up on time every morning, you still love being at school. The environment, the smell, the people, just the feeling it holds. They're all so intoxicating, aren't they?

And finally, you know you love school when even though you are so stoked that the semester is over, you just can't wait to be back again!

So, do you love school?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
