Hey, you there. Yeah you, sitting in front of the computer screen, contemplating whether to study or to watch Netflix. Let's be real, you’re probably going to choose Netflix. But hey, I'm not judging. You do you, man.
Okay, now that I have your attention, lets get to the point. What am I babbling about? Well, you’ll have to read this to find out. See, this is a letter that really isn’t about anything at all. Maybe there’s a point to this letter, maybe there isn’t. Either way, I’m sure you’ll end up finding one. Most letters, they have a certain audience they are reaching out to, but mine, no. I don’t have one. This letter is for every person, object, and idea ever thought of.
It's for you, it's for me, it's for the ice cream man who rolls up in his ice cream truck during the hottest day of the year (You the real MVP, man). It's for the optimists, the pessimists and for those who just don’t give a ... well you know what I mean. It's for the Liz Lemons of the world, it's for the Leslie Knopes of the world. It's for that terrible drawing you did that one time in art class and that idea you had. You know, the one you thought was going to make you a zillionare, the idea that left your mind as fast as it came. Okay, I think you get it now. It’s a letter for basically any and everything that has ever existed or has yet to exist.
It's starting to look like there is no point to this letter, but I promise there is. The point of this letter is to remember to be yourself. Embrace your eccentricity, it's what makes you, you. I mean, take a look at this letter. Some people might find it comedic, others might think it makes no sense at all. They wouldn’t be wrong, by the way. But my point is, I don’t care what they think! I'm writing this as a way to express who I am. I am quirky person and I clearly talk a lot, and usually about random thoughts that really make no sense at all! But I am who I am and I love it.
To end this oh-so-fine piece of writing, I quote none other than the one of a kind, definitely unique, Madonna: “This is who I am, you can like it or not, you can love me or leave me, ‘cause I aint never gonna stop, no no."
So, if any of you reading this letter take anything away from it, other than the fact that I can never stay on topic, I hope it's that you know it's okay to be yourself and to love who you are. At the end of the day, the only person whose opinion of you matters is yours! Embrace who are!
Keep doing you, man.
