Just Breathe

There are going to be times in your life where you're so overwhelmed that you feel paralyzed with stress, anxiety, or nerves. You're going to feel like you don't know what to do with yourself because you're not sure what your next move should be, and that's okay. The biggest thing to remember when life gets to be too much - whether it's schoolwork, a job, relationships, everyday tasks - just remember to breathe.

You can handle any situation life throws at you. It's scary and it can be a lot, but life doesn't tend to give you more than you can handle. It might seem like it in the moment. But usually, when you come out the other side of whatever tough situation you find yourself in, you look back and don't see it as badly as it was when you were first going into it. Sometimes it's hard, and sometimes it remains hard for a long time, but at the end of the day, you were able to handle it and you were able to move past it. You can handle anything, even when you don't necessarily think that you can. Don't lose hope or faith just because you feel like you're overwhelmed at the moment. Just breathe and take it stride by stride.

You were put in whatever situation you're in to learn from it. Sometimes you don't see the lesson that life is giving you when you're going through a rough time. Sometimes you don't even see the lesson or why something happened until years later, and sometimes, you never actually figure out the lesson from a situation - that's all right. It's okay to not understand why something happened, but there's always something you can take away from every situation and learn from it. There's always something that you'll think to yourself I can't believe that happened but I grew so much from it. That's why life gives you hard times - to teach you something, even if it's just a little bit of strength or that it's okay to be weak. That's really the hardest thing you can learn from in life, that it's okay to be weak and wrong and upset. Those aren't bad things. But whatever the situation is, just remember that you should take something away from it.

It's hard to know the reason why things happen. Sometimes there isn't even a reason. But it's always good to know that you can walk away from a hard time or a tough situation knowing you learned something from it and that it happened for a reason. It's always good to know that you can handle anything life throws at you, whether you thought you could in the moment or not. Just remember to always breathe. Life is tough, it's going to give you really great times and really bad times. As long as you know if you just take a deep breath and see that you'll get through it one way or another, everything will be all right.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
