You wake up and something doesn't feel right. What do you do?

Everything is fine, but you feel a bit off. A little heavy and negative inside. It's okay. You've probably felt like this for some reason a few weeks ago. Maybe you'll feel like this again in two weeks. That's okay, too! It's inevitable, it's just emotions.

I felt like this just yesterday. I woke up and I felt "blah." I didn't want to leave the comfort of my bed. I had to acknowledge the way I was feeling, so I sat with myself for a moment. After that, I didn't want it to affect my day, so I decided to think a bit more positive.

While going about my day, I started to think about a few things that were stressful. I started to feel unsure of things in my life. My major in college was the main thing on my mind, but then something made me start thinking about my friends. That was really strange. I started wondering, Are these really my people? These thoughts scared me so much.

After a while, I had to talk it out, so I called one of my friends. Getting this out to a good friend was relieving and allowed me to calm down a little.

Yesterday was interesting, to say the least. Going in and out of different moods, going to classes, and running errands. Strangely enough, the day ended exactly how I needed it to. I had a talk with a close relative, and after that, I was able to hang out with my brother, cousin, and later, my roommates.

It's been a while since I'd spent time with my brother, and it was nice to be able to relax and catch up. At the end of my long day, I sat with my roommates while eating dinner and talking.

Yesterday, I was able to say I went to bed happy, from waking up indifferent. As you can see, talking is something I do often when I'm going through things. I find comfort in relatability. If I can say something to you and you know what it feels like, it's easier to communicate and get to the source of what's happening in my head.

Besides talking to people or myself, I have major jam sessions in my car. If music wasn't a thing, then I wouldn't be a person.

We all go through things and feel the same emotions. We can't be happy all the time, but it helps if you can identify what works best for you to stay calm and positive, for the most part.

What do you do?

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
