For those who are not familiar with EDM, it stands for Electronic Dance Music, which is played at parties and clubs. Most people can't stand EDM because it's either too loud or the music is just too much. The music genre is very different from hip-hop, rap, pop, or anything else. Some EDM artists you may know are Avicci, Zedd, Calvin Harris, Skrillex, David Guetta, Tiesto, The Chainsmokers, Swedish House Mafia, Hardwell, Krewella, and Knife Party.
Usually, girls aren't seen as huge EDM lovers because it can be very intense music. So what if I am a girl who loves EDM and is slightly obsessed with it? Honestly, truth is that it is one of my favorite music genres. The feeling of turning the radio on or hearing my discover playlist on Spotify gives me the amazing rush feeling when I discover a new EDM song. That feeling feels like you felt this beautiful music go through you. Yes, that does sound weird but I guess you would have to love EDM to understand. To everyone who loves Adele and faints when they hear a new song because of how beautiful she sounds... that's how it feels to hear a new EDM song. And just how it usually works, we all put that new song on repeat and begin to hate it. Except! there is so much EDM out there, that you could never get bored of it. I always seem to discover new David Guetta songs on youtube all the time and it's great!
There a number of reasons we love this music, head banging to the beat is so awesome. Second, Your heart races to the sound of a new EDM song, like that moment when you can't even during a new song. Or when you follow Zedd on snapchat for any updates on his new music. You try to grab your phone to Shazam a song on the radio before it ends so you can listen and fall in love all over again. You have become obsessed with an artist that you see to know everything about them. Girls who love EDM music aren't crazy, we are super fun. We are totally able to chill out and listen to regular pop music, but we are just in love with our EDM music world. It keeps us going, and even lifts us up from a crappy day just like your music does. It may be louder and more intense than yours, but we just like that kind of past paced music. We totally invite you to even listen to some of ours and see if you like it. Some artists aren't as fast and intense as others, which is why it can't be so interesting to listen to new artists.
