As the new year approaches, there are plenty of things each person aims for. The goals they hope to reach, and the goals they actually pursue. However, this list is a list of goals that everyone should aim for. Not just making good grades, or to stop procrastinating (although those are awesome goals), but to be a better version of you each year.

1. Love each person you encounter

2. See the positive side of the situation before the negative side

3. Drink more water and less soda

4. Limit your fast food restaurant visits

5. Put money in your savings account and don't touch it

6. Find a way to do an act of random kindness

7. Delete any social media that distracts you from spending time with your friends or family

8. Learn something new each day

9. Try new restaurants to eat at

10. Call a friend or family member each day

11. Serve more

12. Compliment a different person every day

13. Try cooking new foods from family recipes or ones you find on Pinterest

14. Love yourself

15. Tell your best friend how much you appreciate them every day

16. Visit your neighbors

17. Make a cleaning schedule for your house and stick with it

18. Make time to seriously take care of yourself

19. Gossip less

20. Stop and smell the roses

21. Take more spontaneous trips to the beach or mountains

22. Learn when to let go

23. Trust God more than you trust yourself

24. Stress less

25. Smile more

26. Stand up for what you believe in

27. Pray more

28. Worry less

29. Talk less and listen more

30. You are a prince/princess of the King of Kings; act like it

Don't be afraid of this list because there are so many to conquer. Just do your best! It's going to be a great year!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
