Year Of The Virgo: Here Comes A Year Of Good Fortune

This is your year, Virgo! You’ve waited a long time for things to fall into place for you. It seems as though the ball has never been in your court, but things are about to change. This year will bring a lot of surprises that you may or may not have been waiting and hoping for, so get ready!

Family

As a Virgo, you are very close with and protective of your family. You’ve gone through a lot of ups and downs the past few years, but recently, things have been pretty steady and mellow.

Your love and openness with your family continue to grow, and although there may be disagreements here and there, you have learned how to express your arguments and concerns with each other without a huge blowout.

Now, there are times when arguments become heated, and your explosive-like temper comes out, but for the most part, you try to handle situations in a calm and collected manner.

This year, Virgo, your family may bring you some really exciting news, so be very patient and supportive. This may be a momentous time for someone, or even multiple people, in your family, so make it known that you are there to offer help and advice if needed, even if you may not be physically with them.

Friendships

To everyone lucky enough to have a Virgo friend -- KEEP HIM OR HER (OR THEM) FOREVER. Virgos make the best of friends. They tend to keep and maintain friendships for long periods of time. Virgo, your bubbly personality makes meeting new people a piece of cake.

You are kind, caring, and selfless when it comes to your friendships. Those around you value your honesty, trustworthiness and loyalty, which is why many people come to you for help or advice.

You are extremely straightforward, which is why some people might think you’re an assh*le at first, but it’s better to be realistic rather than sugar-coating everything! As September unfolds and you grow older and wiser, Virgo, you may be realizing who is worth having in your life, and who is not.

This is the year to either strengthen, or cut off certain relationships. You will very quickly realize who is a true friend and who is not, so look out for the signs and make some changes so that you don’t waste any more of your time and energy.

Emotions

Although friendships may come easy to you, Virgo, emotions do not. It’s very hard to read what a Virgo is feeling. They may be externally content and able to put on a great poker face, but they may be battling some internal struggles that no one knows or will ever know about. Virgos don’t like to open up and talk about their feelings, but when they do: listen. Virgos are very intuitive and mindful.

You may even learn something from them. When something is wrong, Virgos keep it to themselves and deal with it on their own, so don’t push him or her into trying to “talk things out.” It won’t work. Let the Virgo come to you. The past year may have been an emotional roller coaster for you, Virgo, but it’s time for you to blossom. It’s time to confront your emotions, work on your overall wellbeing and figure out what is best for YOU. You’ve been more than generous with your time helping others deal with their problems, now it’s time to help yourself.

Relationships

Virgo, intimate relationships have never been easy for you. Your occasional stubbornness and need for perfection have hindered your search for the perfect lover. Virgos are VERY picky when it comes to relationships and it seems as though no one is ever good enough for them.

Virgos have a sharp intellect and are great at picking up vibes, which is why they are able to examine and dismiss a potential partner within five minutes (or less) of talking to them. So if you feel like a Virgo isn’t into you, you’re probably right. Virgos don’t usually play hard to get because they think it’s kind of juvenile. When they’re into you, they show it and you will know.

However, when dealing with a Virgo, keep in mind that he or she can feel very vulnerable at times and hesitant to show his or her emotions. They are afraid of getting hurt, as are a lot of people, but Virgos are especially sensitive deep down. Make a Virgo feel loved and he or she will go above and beyond for you.

This is a new year for you, Virgo. You’ve weeded out all the players and now know exactly what you are looking for in a partner. You may not be actively looking for a relationship, but someone may be looking for you. Just keep doing you, Virgo.

Work

Virgos are very professional when it comes to work. Their workplace is no place for bullsh*t and games.

Although Virgos are HUGE procrastinators (probably the worst), they know when it’s time to buckle down and get work done. Although Virgos would rather work individually, they are able to adapt to any environment they are put in. Virgos are fantastic team players and are able to tackle any problem or situation thrown at them in a logical manner. They pay very close attention to detail and value harmony, consistency and hard work. Virgo, your determination, motivation and intelligence will bring you very far in life; never forget that and keep pushing yourself! These characteristics and values make Virgos ideal and iconic leaders.

This year will bring you new opportunities and challenges, Virgo. Accept the challenges and try something new for a change. In the past, you may have gotten lost trying to figure out your future, but give your mind a break and live in the moment for now. Incredible opportunities may be coming your way. They may not be exactly what you’ve had in mind, but give it a go!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
