To the Ladies of Eta Gamma,
First off I want to say thank you. Thank you for opening up and accepting me into your chapter. Thank you for embracing me and my craziness. Thank you for reminding me what sisterhood is about.
When I first thought about transferring last semester, my first concern was finding a school that had ADPi because I did not want to loose my sisterhood. However, what I found in Eta Gamma is something else entirely. ADPi at SLU was awesome, obviously, because that's where I found my home in ADPi; ADPi at Austin Peay is where I found my family. Before I even knew I was going to transfer to Austin Peay, I had countless sisters that reached out to me when I came to visit.
Eta Gamma is where I found 79 sisters who love and adore me no matter what. I know that sometimes it may seem like there is a lot going on and being asked of us and that the true spirit of sisterhood has been lost, but to me, I can see that glimmer of hope. I have found that sisterhood. Don't take it for granted. All 79 of us are not going to be BFFs, but that's not the point. Don't forget about the time your big took you out to eat or the time a sister brought you chicken noodle soup when you were sick. We take these little acts of kindness for granted.
So many sisters have really shown me how much they live for each other. When I was having a bad day, one of my sisters brought me flowers later that day, and that meant more than words can explain. The sisterhood is present in Eta Gamma, it just is present in small, daily acts of kindness instead of frivolous over the top activities. We Live For Each Other and that is something no one should forget.
I was terrified when I transferred. I was worried about fitting in and feeling accepted. I had nothing to worry about though because Eta Gamma has welcomed me with open arms, and I cannot wait to see what the next 3 years of my life will hold in Eta Gamma. Yay Rah Eta Gamma!
