These 10 College Guys' First Date Stories Will Make You Feel 100 Percent Better About Your Love Life

First dates are nervewracking and I'm sure we all can agree. We spend all night to look good and make a good first impression for our date, but sometimes first dates don't go as planned.

I've had my fair share of not so good first dates. One time, I went on a date on the fourth of July to go watch fireworks with a guy. He ended up being late and we missed the whole show... but here we are today as boyfriend and girlfriend. So not all bad first dates turn out a bust, but for these men, they did.

I asked 10 guys the worst first date conversations they've had and here are their stories:

1. Seeing double

"I took this girl out to dinner at a regular place, nothing too fancy or too run down. As we were getting to know each other, she blurts out, 'I have to be back in about a half hour because I have another date that I forgot about, no offense to you.' I thought she was joking but she wasn't."

2. Speak no evil

"I had a girl come over and she said five words the entire night. I didn't even want to hang out with her anymore."

3. Movie digger

"We went to the movies to go see the new Marvel movie. Everything went great until the end when I was driving her home. All she did was talk about how her ex loved the Marvel series and how she 'low key' misses having movie nights with him because he bought everything."

4. Hunbot

"She invited me over to her house to watch a movie. When I got there, everything was going good. We were getting to know each other and then I asked her if she has a job. She said she works at home with a nutrition company, She kept going on and on about it for about an hour. I was getting annoyed and then realized that the company she was talking about are those MLM schemes that are shared all over Facebook."

5. Welcome to Chili's

"I took her to Chili's and I paid the bill. She never said 'thank you' and then stopped talking to me a few days later."

6. No gun show?

"I met this girl at our library for a study date and when I saw her for the first time she said, "Oh, I was expecting you to be a little more muscular!" She said she was joking but I think she only said that because she knew she hurt my feelings."

7. Secrets don't make friends

"Our first date we went out to the bars and she got drunk while I stayed pretty sober. She could barely walk so I told her I'd take her home. She looks at me and says, 'You look so much like my boyfriend! But don't tell him that.' Turns out she wasn't actually single."

8. Major shade

"We met at Starbucks for our first date. We were talking and we're both college students so I asked her what her major was. She said criminal justice and then asked me what mine was and I told her art history. She laughed and said, 'Good luck with that. You won't make any money.'"

9. Daddy

"She told me I looked like her dad and proceeded to call me Dad for the rest of the night."

10. That's not my name

"Our first date was going well, we were laughing and really getting to know each other. She then started calling me by the wrong name... the entire night. I didn't tell her though because I was embarrassed for her."

beer on the beach

Summer is hot and humid, and it's almost like summer was made specifically to drink the refreshing, cold, crisp wonderful, delicious, nutritious nectar of the gods. Which is none other than beer; wonderful cold beer. With summer playing peek-a-boo around the corner while we finish up this semester, it's time to discuss the only important part of summer. And if you haven't already guessed, it's beer. There are few things I take more seriously than my beer, in order are: sports... and beer. Here are my favorite summer brews:

Bruce Springsteen's Top 7 Lyrics

Everything Bruce says in his classic rock songs.

Anyone who was born and raised in New Jersey (or anywhere really) knows of Bruce Springsteen, whether or not they like him is a whole other situation. I hope that his hundreds of classic rock songs and famous high energy performances, even in his sixties he can put on better concerts than people half his age, are at least recognizable to people of all ages. Love him or hate him (I identify with the former) you have to admit that some of his songs and interviews have inspirational quotes and lyrics.

New England Summers Are The BEST Summers

Why you should spend your next summer in New England.

Marconi Beach

Three years ago, I chose to attend college in Philadelphia, approximately 360 miles away from my small town in New Hampshire. I have learned many valuable lessons away from home, and have thoroughly enjoyed my time spent in Pennsylvania. One thing that my experience has taught me, however, is that it is absolutely impossible to beat a New England summer.

You cannot beat the beach. Believe it or not (which many people may not), New England has a long and beautiful coastline. Most of my high school summers were spent sitting on the Wall at Hampton Beach, getting sunburnt and eating Acai bowls from The Secret Spot. The Wall was the place to be both during the day and at night. We begin our days there with a KB's bagel and coffee, and end them with pizza and ice cream. It’s not a New England summer without that 4 p.m. text from someone, “Who wants to meet at the Wall tonight?” Nighttime is for Tripoli’s Pizza, the sound of waves, and wishes on shooting stars. Wednesday nights are especially important, as those are the nights that Hampton Beach sets off the weekly firework display.
