An Open letter to my Best Friend that moved away for College...

Always together, never apart, maybe by distance but never the heart...

First of all, I want to start off by saying that no distance, no matter how great or small, can stop me from loving you and from being here whenever you call.

It was hard enough saying goodbye to you for the short time being when you would leave my house for the weekends that you spent with me, but having to say goodbye for months at a time... That's a feeling that I wouldn't mind not getting used to.

You will accomplish many great things. I vow that I will always remind you of your worth, no matter what time of the night, or how  random it might be. I promise that you are just as important to me now, as you have always been. Distance is just the miles between us.

Due to this distance between us, it means that I can't protect you from the annoying boys that might try to hit on you at parties or at the mall. I will always worry about you, I'll worry about your safety, I'll worry about your schoolwork (I have to make sure that you're getting your work done), and of course, I'll worry about our friendship. But the cause of all this worry is the fact that I care.

I want to remind you that I'm proud of you. I'm proud of the young lady that you're becoming and the fact that you did what most of us aren't able to do, which is get up off our bums and move out of the house. I'm proud of the fact that you're chasing after your dreams, no matter how big or small they might be. You. my friend, are fearless.

Thank you for not forgetting me even when life tried its hardest to tear us apart.

I love you. XOXO

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
