Summer is prime time to be in a restaurant, movie theater, or pool. You might enjoy visiting these venues. What you might not realize is, it's predominately staffed by an army of broke college students desperately trying to save up money! Some of us don't visit these places during the summer; we live there. We've said at least once, "Hold my funeral here because I've spent so much of my life here, it's only fitting." You might not be able to tell stories of exotic places when you go back to school, but you have plenty of interesting stories from work.

1. When people ask how your summer is going

2. When your friends ask if you're free: "That'd be a no."

If you're not working, you're definitely sleeping.

3. If you have a day off and actually do something, you better believe it's all over your social media to prove to your friends and family you're not dying in a dark hole.

4. Your first thought in the morning is "I have X number of hours until I have to be on the clock."

5. "Hey, can you do this extra assignment that is definitely not something you were told was part of your job duties?"

I would love to.

6. You are all up in your coworkers' business. You can immediately answer questions like, "Which coworker is the most likely to get a DUI? Which coworker is the most likely to snap?"

7. Your uniform

"I did until I put this on."

8. You get the best life advice from your coworkers.

"Should I go to a party the night before a double shift? I won't get any sleep but it'll be worth it right?"

9. You have been touched awkwardly by at least one customer.

10. You have been injured at least once at work in a way that you're too embarrassed to tell anyone about. Burned your finger getting bread out of the oven? Bruise on your foot because a kid stepped on it? Pain is real.

11. People can be really mean to you. (PSA: Kindness is always the correct answer, kids.) Please remember, I'm just a broke college student trying to provide a service for you and earn some money so I don't die penniless in a gutter.

12. No matter how irritating people are, you do your best to improve their visit.

13. Your friends are getting tan by the pool. Meanwhile,

Spending all day inside wearing long sleeves and long pants will do that to you, unless of course you're a lifeguard.

14. When you come home, it's dark and it's absurdly late and no else is up, but you just REALLY want to eat.

14. You work diligently and enthusiastically until it's time to leave, but as soon as you hit the parking lot

15. Payday is the best day of the week. Tangible proof all your tears are worth it.

16. Sometimes (all the time) you break down and spend some of your blood-sweat-and-tears, I mean paycheck.

It should be noted your net worth is the quarter you found on the floor when you bent down to tie your shoe.

17. But you solider on, because you know some day you'll be able to do cool things because you're making money now. You say that all the time to yourself, and also anyone else who will listen.

May the scheduling be always in your favor, fellow worker bees.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
