Working with Michael Scott/ Dwight Schrute

Things I have observed working with a person who reminded me of a comical duo.

Never would I have ever thought I would be working with quite the character. With in just a few days, I was able to configure who he reminded me of. I kept it to myself for a while until asking a friend and another co-worker, and they both thought the same thing. I knew I was not making this up, what I observed was a true fact.

Funny thing is, I asked my co-worker once if he watched "The Office." His response was an enthusiastic yes, so then I proceeded to ask what characters he relates himself to. He got the Dwight part right, but failed to relate himself to the most comical character, Michael Scott. When I told him that he reminded me of Michael Scott, he was a bit taken back, but when I explained my reasoning it was understandable. Though, for some reason he likes to think of himself as Jim because he is the likable main character, but I do not see it at all.

Here is how my co-worker is perfectly blended mix of Michael Scott/ Dwight Schrute:

  1. Loyalty: Dwight’s loyalty to Michael is unreal; my co-workers loyalty to his boss and company is unreal. He does not just go the extra mile, but instead he goes for the marathon.
  2. FWD E-mails: Michael is known to always be forwarding e-mails; my inbox is largely comprised of FWD e-mails.
  3. Unpredictable extreme reactions: We have seen Michael’s reactions go from a blank expression to a yelling rage. I can predict that the day will be unpredictable, but I cannot predict when my co-worker will be chill/ or have a hissy fit.
  4. Jokes: Michael thinks his jokes are hilarious, yet no one else does. It is a painful thing to have to experience everyday. Funny thing is, it is the things that happen at work I find funny, and not the jokes.
  5. Right-hand: Dwight can always be found right next to Michael ready for to take on what they think is “mission impossible”. You can always find my co-worker ready to take on a task like he is saving the world.
  6. Phone-calls: Michael is always found laughing hysterically on the phone for no good reason. My co-worker can be found laughing at someone saying hello, I swear I am not making this up, I know because I am on some of the same calls.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
