In a world where we are witnessing the ongoing destruction of the environment around us, it is sometimes hard to remember to take a step back to see how we can contribute to better protect the environment in which we live. Luckily, several organizations and companies have made it their mission to help combat this deterioration.
Woodchuck, a locally based company that has recently become a national phenomenon, has the passion and dedication for not only producing great American craftsmanship, but also for giving back to the environment. This company's handmade, wooden products, ranging anywhere from bottle openers to unique, one-of-a-kind engraved maps, emphasizes the beauty and art that nature can bring into our lives. This illustrates its ability in making American products with American hands, something that is greatly appreciated by our economy. Walking around one of the main production sites, I was able to see the precise handiwork that went into creating each product, as well as the workers' genuine passion for their work in giving back to the environment.
Woodchuck is launching a new initiative this week titled, “Buy One. Plant One.” This shows their promise in giving back to people and the earth. From this point forward, Woodchuck is promising to plant one tree for every purchase that is made in hopes to give “nature back to people.” Every time someone makes a purchase for one of these great products (one of the production sites being just a few blocks away from the University of Minnesota!), you have a guaranteed promise that a tree will be planted in return. To all you girls, your shopping will finally pay off!
In all honesty, this great campaign they have launched shows the true spirit of their company. Woodchuck has gone to great lengths to produce remarkable products, ones meant to remind you of the nature's beauty that is many times unseen in today’s world, and to make a step towards renewing the life of the environment. With these great strides, Woodchuck is a great example in why participating and contributing to organizations with worldview missions such as theirs can be so crucial in the bettering of our world.
