September has finally begun and you all probably know what that means...it's officially college football season and the SEC vibes are stronger than ever this year. There's something about being a college student here in the South that make these Saturday night games some of your favorite memories while you're here. These games aren't your average football games though, here in Arkansas, you'll get dressed up, put on your best pair of cowboy boots and show off your new red dress. It's a chance to have a great time and look even better doing it, and, hey, you're supposed to find your spouse in college, right? So obviously this is only helping you.

There are a few things that make game days here better than any other school. One, Arkansas knows how to have awesome tailgates. Of course, two is that there is nothing better than our school spirit. Let's just take a minute to appreciate the food at all the tailgates around campus. You have your basic hot dogs, hamburgers, and chips everywhere, but here in Arkansas you can get anything from fried mushrooms, shrimp, crawfish, homemade pies, grilled vegetables, desserts your grandma spent all day Friday baking, all the way to an actual pig roasted on a platter. We get pretty serious about our game-day food, but who doesn't? The tailgates in general are up there with being just as awesome as the game. Everyone all around campus have tents set up and music playing to get just as pumped up as the players before the game. You get there at 12 to tailgate all day and nobody can stop you from having a good time from there on out. Now getting to the school spirit, everyone of all ages is here to support our Hogs every weekend. There's basically never an open seat at these games because everyone loves this team so much. Some of the hard core extremists even paint their bodies or dress up in crazy outfits, just to show their appreciation for these games. How could you not love the atmosphere here on game days? The night before game days the stadium is lit with a red glow that can be seen from miles away, streets and parking lots are blocked off, and you can count on thousands of people to show up every time to call the Hogs.

So, next time you think about reasons why you love fall, think about college game days in the SEC specifically Arkansas and you'll realize that not too many sporting events could ever be as crazy and exciting as they are here. Appreciate it while you can because you'll miss it all when its gone. Woo pig!
