Women's Pockets Are Inferior To Men's Pockets, And It's Time We Wake Up

Why do women have such small pockets? We have things to put in them.

Women's Pockets Are Inferior To Men's Pockets, And It's Time We Wake Up

When it comes to women's fashion, we are getting screwed when it comes to pants, all of the women's jeans have pockets that are only 5.5 inches deep, and some pants are made with the front pockets sewn shut. There is no room to fit anything in there. All of the men's pants have so much room they can fit everything they carry in them.

Women can't even fit their phone properly in their pocket, the pockets on the average woman pant are 5.6 inches deep, that is 48% shorter and 6.5 % narrower than men's pockets. Men can carry so much that they don't have to carry a bag unless it's for work or school. Women have so little room to put even their phone, let alone their wallet even it is small it's not going to fit because there is no room.

Women's pockets are not functional. The most I could ever fit in my pocket is my phone barley and maybe a chapstick if I have a front pocket, but that's about it, and then I have to carry a bag with everything else. Women get excited over extra or deeper pockets because that means they don't have to carry a large bag around all day.

We are busy just as much as men are and we need room too, it's 2018 the fashion industry should have moved forward in making women's clothes more functional just like a mans. Giving women bigger and better pockets is not hard nor expensive for the fashion industry if you can do it for men you can do it for us as well.

This goes for women's suits as well, the pockets are more for decoration than anything else, But men's suits have built-in pockets in the jackets where they can put a cigar, a wallet or even a flask if they wanted to. But women don't even have that, we are still forced to carry a bag everywhere we go.

It has been said over the years that the reason why the fashion industry refuses to put bigger pockets on women's clothes is that it will take away from her body, so they put the women's body over functionality. Christian Dior said in 1954 "Men have pockets to keep things in, and women's for decoration". Basically saying that women prefer to look attractive then have functional clothing, that may have been true back in 1954, but it's 2018 most women don't think that way anymore.

I get excited when I find a jacket with extra pockets because that means I can carry more things without a bag, that includes my wallet, phone and even snacks for my kids. not all women carry a bag or want to. The fashion world may like to see the streamline of the female body, we as women would like to have nice clothes that fit and have bigger and deeper pockets. there is no reason why we don't have this in 2018.

I know so many women that love pockets, and dream of pockets big enough to carry our phone, keys, lipstick and maybe even a snack, and not have to search through a purse to find what we need. And the fashion industry needs to stop sewing women's front pockets shut, these are jeans, not leggings.

It's not just how we look in clothes, it's how we use them.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
