In today's evolving society empowering young girls and women is so imperative. Luckily, we have many influential world leaders that have made movements and impactful projects in order for women to progress in the world. A few of my favorite women leaders consist of Michelle Obama, Malala Yousafzai, and Princess Diana.
Michelle took the advantage of her platform to use when she first became the first lady to discuss the issues that she most cared about. While she was most known for changing how children eat in our schools, she embraced the importance of girl's education. The campaign created "Let girls learn" created a mission to have young girls reach their full potential when it comes to education. Michelle has a passion for educating girls in order for them to feel empowered.
Another influential leader (my favorite), is Malala Yousafzai, she has a huge passion to educate women around the world. She has been an activist for female education rights since she was eleven years old. I admire her because she comes from Pakistan where there are not many that believe in her movement. But that did not stop her, she is known as a warrior for female education because one day she was walking to school and had been shot by a gunman in her village. Luckily, survived it and continues her movement today. I admire her greatly because she will literally have her life on the line in order to get her message across the world.
Last, but most definitely not least our very own royalty Princess Diana was known as the first badass woman that went against the rules. You can probably say she made being a feminist "cool." Members of royalty are typically living life by a script but Diana was just her true self with her silly sense of humor and passion to change the world with the platform she had. Although her time on Earth was cut short by a devastating car accident, she was still able to leave her mark on the world with her passion through service. A topic she brought up and was passionate about was mental health. While she dealt with it herself, she enjoyed educating others on this topic although it was controversial for a royal to speak about to the public.
These women changed the game when it came to women in leadership. They not only helped with service and speaking out on important topics that they were passionate about with their platforms, but they empowered women in the process of doing so.
