Through my obsession with television, I have realized that some of my favorite shows are those with hilarious characters who have a certain witty charm to them. Characters such as Jim Halpert from "The Office", Chandler Bing from "Friends" and Damon Salvatore from "The Vampire Diaries" are just a few that come to mind.
Their witty remarks throughout the show make watching the series that much more enjoyable. I have watched random episodes of "The Office" or "Friends" in the morning just to get a kick out of it before I start my day. These 20-minute long episodes are just long enough to brighten people’s day. Jim’s constant pranks towards Dwight, as well as his facial expressions towards the cameras send tears of joy down my face. Damon Salvatore’s witty remarks turns a mourning scene into a hilarious one in a matter of seconds. Chandler Bing also warms our hearts with his honesty towards other people. These men are not afraid to be themselves. While these men do have a great sense of humor, they also are the dream man any girl would faun over if they got the chance to meet them in real life. Jim Halpert is the man who never gave up on love. He was not afraid to go against the odds and wait for Pam. He always puts Pam first before he thinks of himself. Damon Salvatore is another man who fought for love. Even Elena forgot about how much she loved him, he used his charm to pull her back in. Chandler Bing is another character you fall in love with, without even noticing it. Chandler’s honesty helps people always know what he’s thinking.
All these men were friends to their women before they officially fell in love with them or acted upon it. All of these men bring life to the show. They bring joy to people’s eyes and these men are realistic to our everyday life. Although unfortunately, we will not have a vampire boyfriend, their wit does shows their humanity. They are all not afraid to be who they truly are. They do not conform to what others want them to be. If anything, they change for the better. They also stand up for what they think is right, while bringing humor to their viewers. These men are also not afraid to show all emotions. They are all not afraid to break down and cry when necessary. Through the humor of these characters, these shows have had several successful seasons. People have felt a loss when these shows have already or are starting to come to a close. The world has had to say goodbye to these familiar faces and treasure the moments we got to spend with them.
