They say good friends or good people, in general, are hard to come by. Although that is true, I have found some keepers!
No one wants a repeat of high school, sitting alone at lunch, or playing basketball at recess by yourself because you don't have any friends. No matter how and when, it's so important to find at least one or two people you have something in common with. One or two people that will accept you for you. One or two people that won't judge you for eating plates of fries and two slices of pizza for lunch and dinner. It's important to find some friends at your home away from home that will keep you grounded, happy, and won't ask you to change who you are. So to the girls that have made my college experience lit, thank you.
SemSarah and Vanessa, thank you. When I first met you both, I didn't know that you were going to become this important to me. I didn't know that we would grow to learn so much about each other. When I am down, you lift me up, when I cry, you wipe my tears, when I laugh hysterically, you laugh along with me so that I don't look stupid in public. When I've had a rough day, you bring me an Iced Caramel Swirl with extra caramel from Dunkin', or you show up to my room just to talk to me about my day.
You both have played a huge role in my life. I wouldn't be able to get through college if it wasn't for you guys. You distract me when I need to be, give me tough love when I doubt myself, and cheer me on when I'm almost at the finish line. Your creative, spontaneous, and colorful personalities give me something to look forward to at the end of the day. Every day, I look forward to our dinners at seven in the dining commons, or our long nights doing homework in the labs nowhere near our dorms, or our random drives to Walmart with a list of things to buy but putting the majority of it back before even cashing out.
We're a unique group of friends! We balance each other out and we never judge one another. We could be walking to class together or to the Dinning Commons and talk about 30 random things without getting bored. Thank you for encouraging me to reach for the stars and push through all the obstacles. I'm am more than happy that we have spent the most important years of our youth together. We have built memories, made mistakes, and tackled so many things we thought would be impossible. I pray that we all find success but never lose this friendship. Thank you for showing me the true meaning of friendship and loyalty.
