I Wish You Enough
I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright.
I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more.
I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive.
I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in life appear much bigger.
I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.
I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.
I wish you enough “Hellos” to get you through the final “Goodbye.”
- Bob Perks
In this holiday season of joy and giving, try wishing those you love enough. So often we get so caught up in the rush of getting and giving, that we forget to appreciate what we have. We are all looking to capture those Kodak moments around the Christmas tree, and to save that special memory of the children singing like angels or the fireplace crackling late into the evening. We forget to be content.
It’s okay to not have everything you want; it’s okay to have enough. It’s okay not to be able to give everything you would like; it’s okay to do enough. In this holiday season, enough is enough.
You don’t need that extra high-tech present that you’re struggling to afford. That eager child will adore whatever they get to unwrap. It’s enough.
You don’t need to make yourself crazy over preparing every dish imaginable for your holiday dinner. Everyone will love whatever you serve. It’s enough.
You don’t need to fight those crowds for the perfect gift. Instead, sit on the couch, pull that deserving person a little closer and enjoy spending more time with one another. It’s enough.
Try to keep in mind that there are people out there with far less than you, who think they have it all. There are people in the world with more than you will ever have, who think it will never be enough. Be happy with where you are and what you have. Be happy with enough.
This holiday season, I wish you all enough.
