10 Reasons Why I Wish I Was A Kardashian

I must admit, sometimes I wish I was a Kardashian.

As an (embarrassingly) avid watcher of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, I am constantly surprised by the everyday "normal lives" of the Kardashian family.

But in addition to my consistent shock to their habitual lifestyle, I am consumed with jealousy.

As I sit in my dorm room and stalk Kendall Jenner's Instagram, I envision shopping in Barneys without blinking an eye, or having my hair and makeup done on command, and then roll my eyes and proceed to Kylie's page.

But, despite my fixation on the Kardashian lifestyle, I know it is not a part of who I am.

But a girl can dream, right?

Here is why I wish I was a KardashianL

The Clothes

Even the people that detest the materialistic aspect of the Kardashian family can admit that nothing beats the fashion and luxurious style that encompasses the Kardashians. In addition to the endless supply of any brand of clothing they want, they are invited and chosen to represent the fashion world on Fashion Week, major line releases, and now the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. Whether it is on the runway or at a photo shoot, I wish I was a Kardashian.

The Always Expanding Family

So first they dominate the world of television, then the fashion industry, and now music? With Kanye West and Tyga in the mix I don't think the Kardashian family could be busier. While expanding their superiority in almost every market, the Kardashians have the ability to be a part of nearly anything they wish. Maybe this can be attributed to the fact that I am just a big Kanye fan, but I wish I was a Kardashian.

The Lack of Boredom

Yes, I am sure there may be excessive amounts of mental and emotional strain when living with the Kardashian family, but I feel like there is always something going on. Whether it is a social event or the strange behavior amongst members of the family, I feel like one could achieve a substantial level of entertainment on the inner ring of the Kardashian clan. Not to mention the curiosity I have for what happens off camera, does the makeup ever come off? In any case, an active social and family life is one of the reasons I wish was a Kardashian.

Random Praise... For Doing Absolutely Nothing

Whether it's receiving revenue from participating in a television show based on everyday life or receiving praise for a book of selfies, the Kardashians live lavishly on their everyday routine actions. This idea sprung upon me the day I watched Scott Disick become "Lord Disick". The lack of effort towards stardom and still retrieving it is very appealing to me, and again I wish I was a Kardashian.

The Support of the Family

On a deeper note, it seems to me that even the most unforeseen events of the Kardashian family are always followed by love and support. I think some viewers find it to be fake, but with a family managed career, I would believe that family support is essential to their success. Even in the midst of crazy schedules and major life transitions, their sense of support and comfort from their family never changes, and that is another reason I wish I was a Kardashian.

So, I am not not and will never be a Kardashian, but as bewildering as it is... I truly wish I was.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
