The anticipation for winter break is tough. Knowing you're only three finals away from being reunited with your bed at home, you begin to develop short-timer's attitude. However, once you're at home for a few days, the anticipation returns: but this time, you want to go back to college.
1. You're welcomed home only to be bombarded by questions.
2. The best part of being home (besides your own bed, of course) is the food. It's good food and it's free!
3. Some of your friends from high school want to meet up over break, but the majority of your plans consist of sleeping and more sleeping.
4. You get those occasional jokes about surviving another semester without your parents to cook for you or do your laundry.
5. You'll also get those beloved extended family members who inquire about your love life.
6. Spending so much time around your family has you going somewhat insane.
7. And of course you just so happen to run into people around town who you truly do not want to see.
8. You'll hear about people you went to high school with who are either already engaged, married, or having a child. But then there's you, single.
9. By the end of break, you will have been asked, "What is your major?" and, "What do you want to do with it?" so many times.
10. But even though your family can be annoying, and being at home can be boring, saying goodbye to your mom is always the hardest (mainly because she cries way too easily).
