Water, wine, wine water, basically interchangeable, right? We all need our wine fixes, (some more than others), we just never want to break the bank, especially college students. No need to fret my fellow wine lovers, after numerous trials and errors, we have compiled a list. Yes, a list, a list of wines that leave a yummy taste in your mouth, and a small dent in your bank account.
1.) A Pinot Noir from A to Z Wineworks out of Washington, Oregon.
My absolute favorite as far as Pinot Noirs go. It begins to tickle your palate with a fresh taste of nightshade berries and moves into a light aftertaste of warm spices, cinnamon, anise, and saffron. I have yet to see the price jump over $20, usually averaging around $15 per bottle.
2.) A Cabernet Sauvignon from Substance Winery in Columbia Valley, Washington.
Hello, the label looks like an element from the periodic table, it makes you smarter. This Cabernet Sauvignon has really grown on me. It is a very dark and bold flavor, leaving a taste of tobacco in your mouth. See men, tobacco, leaving you feeling manly, manly wine. Hardly breaking the bank at $17.
3.) A Sauvignon Blanc from Oyster Bay in Marlborough, New Zealand.
This Sauvignon Blanc is dry, but not desert dry. It is rather zesty and chilled, leaving you refreshed. One of my favorites on a warm day. Topping off at $15 a bottle, it's not too shabby mate.
4.) A Pinot Grigio from Cantina Tramin Winery in Trentino- Alto Adige, Italy.
A Pinot Grigio from Italy, oh you're fancy. This yummy bottle is so delicate with the taste of honey and nuts. I have yet to meet someone who turns their nose at it, $16 come onnnnn!
5.) A Rose from Chateau D'Aqueria Winery in Tavel, France.
Sometimes you need a little pink in your life. Where else to drink a Rose than from Tavel? There is nothing more refreshing than Rose, spring flowers and raspberries seem to dance along your tongue. Not only will you sound extremely sexy saying "Chateau D'Aqueria", you cannot beat $18, a small price to pay for such a fabulous taste.
