A Review of the First Two Episodes of the Will & Grace Revivial

For many, the revival of Will & grace has been a comfort, but now it seems to be going in the wrong direction. One crucial mistake of the show so far is the awful way that the finale was handled. With a complex storyline and major life changes, that was a finale that everyone remembered.

In case you may have forgotten, the finale is shown over a series of years but starts in 2006 where Grace gets a visit from her ex-husband Leo, who knows she is carrying his child. After this Will comes home and then the episode goes several years into the future.

Grace has a daughter named Lila and has remarried Leo. Will adopted a boy named Ben and his still together with his partner, Vince. Will and Grace haven’t spoken since the events shown earlier in the episode. Meanwhile, Jack and Karen conspire to bring the two together and have them reunite. Their plan is successful and soon the episode goes even further into the future.

Will and Grace have fallen out of touch but are still friends. They meet after they find that their kids have met the same way they did; living across the hall from each other in college. After this the episode flashes into the future and reveals their kids are getting married. In the end, they along with Jack and Karen go to the bar featured in the pilot episode. They each have a shot and they look the way they would in 2006.

Since the premiere episode of season nine, Will & Grace has had a rough start, but has more than made up for the mistakes of the first episode. The serious issues of the premiere are that they didn’t spend enough time straightening out the event of the finale, and tried to jump into the political jabs much too early in the series.

The episode starts with Will, Grace, Jack and Karen playing a game of heads up on their phones. After Will and Grace finish playing it’s Jack and Karen’s turn, but Karen is daydreaming. Once Jack wakes her up it turns out her daydream is the finale of the series. Once the four characters finish breaking down Karen’s daydream to be just that Jack looks directly into the camera saying, “Get it”.

Will’s storyline is that he is going to Washington to flirt with a congressman despite opposing his political views on everything. Grace has to go to The White House after Karen talks Melania Trump into allowing Grace to redecorate the Oval Office. When Will and Grace discover each other at the White House they get into a fight over it and decide that living together is a terrible idea but are going to go ahead with it anyway. Despite a lackluster start, the show has really picked up steam and has managed to captivate viewers with its second episode, which is more the original Will & Grace than ever.

The episode deals with Will and Jack dating twenty-something year old guys. Will dates a guy that apparently has ADHD and likes that Will is older. However, he doesn’t fully understand that people like Will had to pave the way for men like him to be gay and free. Will educates him on moments such as the Stonewall Riots in Greenwich Village, and legalizing gay marriage in many states such as New York. The guy leaves satisfied, but Will knows that he will forget the history and important facts Will told him.

Jack on the other hand has a problem looking younger for his young man, so he goes to the best beauty guru he knows, Karen. At first, she considers giving him a shot of Scrotox, Botox for the scrotum, but ends up going with two powerful magnets that keep him standing up straight. However, these end up back firing as he can’t sit down or walk right. Once he gets back to his apartment, he puts on makeup to look younger, but ends up looking like an over the hill drag queen.

Karen and Grace both get locked in Karen’s shower with the water running. Both women talk about their differences as Karen also tries to make the case for why she should get a raise. Even though the characters spend much of the episode separated, the plot and themes of the show are the Will & Grace I remember. The show has thirteen episodes left before the season finale. One disappointing part of the show is that Shelley Morrison will not be returning to the series as Karen’s faithful, sharp tonged maid, Rosario Salazar.

Will & Grace may not have the entire cast back and stumbled to get back on its feet, but the show is starting to come around, only time and the next few episodes will tell.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
