Wifey, according to Urban Dictionary is "A REAL Lady, Not your only but your favorite, different from them hood rat chicks. Wife Material".

Well honestly, this term is bullshit. I hate it with all of my being and more. And to be quite frank, I don't ever hate anything because it goes against who I am as a person... hence the idiocy that comes with this term. Now let's define the word a little more so that our generation can truly rethink its usage.

So, "wifey" is a new term to describe a girl that is of wife material. She has goals, she is driven, and most of all she is loyal. Basically, she portrays most if not all the characteristics and qualities of a wife. What could be wrong with that? Absolutely nothing. In fact, there is no problem with this newly invented term. The issue lies deep within people that use it, for they (being the current male population) often misuse this term for young woman that are too naive. Let me put this in perspective: a young couple has been seeing each other for some time now. They go out, they have fun, they are intimate. The young man labels the girl he is seeing as wifey to all of his friends... meaning she displays relationship qualities even though they are far from dating and probably won't ever. She is not what men would define her as a "hoe," "thot" or "bitch." To say the least, this is a pathetic compliment to the young woman. But even still there comes disappointment with the way the young man will use this term. For instance, as he continues to see his "wifey", he will also continue to sleep around with other girls because he is technically not tied down to just her. He does so because he receives all the relationship benefits with this young woman, but does not have to put in the effort for anything else.

Essentially, "wifey" is an idiotic term targeted towards naive young woman that do not understand their self-worth quite yet, for if they did, they wouldn't waste their time with those that categorize them as such. Henceforth, I am truly sick and tired of hearing this term being tossed around. There should not be a distinguished factor between woman you just sleep with and woman that portray relationship qualities. All people, men and woman, need to truly rethink our current dating habits and be honest about what is wanted. Consequently, we are only hurting ourselves in the end.

All in all, the term coined as wifey is not necessarily a negative thing. I believe that the literal meaning is admirable and is supposed to target woman with self-confidence, worth and independence. However, I have found that most of this generation has de-valued the word. Consequently, to notion a woman as "wifey" is disrespectful due to the situations that arise from it.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
