I am a Capricorn. That's what I've always been and that's what I'll always be. In fact, I remember when my mom would tell people that I was a Capricorn before I even knew what it meant to be a Capricorn.
For the most part, others are similar to me when it comes to their zodiac sign. We base the way we live, think, and love off of the date that we were born on. We embrace our signs. We become our signs. We take pride in what makes us tick. Most importantly, we grow to love our signs and ultimately, ourselves.
And we go through life this way. We go through life with this basic understanding of who we are. Ofcourse, we pick up others traits and perspectives as we grow and earn but when it comes down to it, we're true to our signs. That is, until NASA threw us a complete curve ball.
That's right. As if the most recent rumor that we may have to commit to a different zodiac sign wasn't enough to shake us up 5 years ago, NASA has done.
The agency introduced us to Ophiuchus, or as most of us have heard, the supposed 13th zodiac sign. This constellation was initially looked over by Babylonians about 3,000 years ago in order to create their original 12-month calendar. My thing is, if they over-looked it, then why can't we?
We are all settled into our signs and it doesn't really make a difference now. In my eyes, the original 12 zodiac signs are enough for me. We are who we are. I am a Capricorn. That's what I've always been and that's what I'll always be.
