Why You Should Watch Space Jam

It has come to my attention that not that many people have seen the movie Space Jam, which is a cinematic masterpiece. For those of you that have not seen this work of art, let me give you some background. Space Jam is a movie about Michael Jordan helping the Looney Tunes win a basketball game against an alien race that wants to enslave them. It was released in 1996. If that description doesn't want to make you find and watch the movie ASAP then here are a couple reasons for why you should watch Space Jam.

1. You get to witness some top notch acting by Michael Jordan.

While this performance certainly won't earn him any awards, the fact that he's even half way decent is amazing.

2. You also get to see four other NBA greats attempting to act.


Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing, Muggsy Bogues, Larry Johnson, and Shawn Bradley also give it their best shot.

3. Bill Murray is in this movie and he plays basketball.

Need I say more?

4. Lola Bunny makes her debut on the big screen.

She's a strong independent bunny with some serious basketball skills.

5. The jokes in the movie are actually smart.

Jokes poke fun at Michael Jordan's ridiculous amount of sponsorships, how the Looney Tunes are the property of Warner Brothers, and many others.

6. It has the best 90s soundtrack of all time.

Highlights include R. Kelly's "I Believe I Can Fly" and an epic collaboration for the Monstar's anthem.

7. The names of the teams are iconic.

The aliens' team is called the Monstars and the Looney Tunes are a part of the Tune Squad. These names just can't get better.

8. It has the best basketball game in the history of time.This dunk is the best of all time. It could win the dunk contest every year.

9. Finally, the man himself tabs it as his best work.

You can't argue with Michael Jordan.

Now go forth and enjoy the best sports movie of all time and feel the 90s nostalgia.
