From the moment "Fifty Shades of Grey" became a movie, I was all for it. Being that girl who read the books when she was 17, I was all about watching my favorite books come to life on the movie screen. I went and watched the first movie and thought it was phenomenal. Half of the people who saw it didn't agree with me, but the other half did. Who doesn't love a good romance film?
This past weekend, the second installment came out, and OH MY GOSH. It was so good. Many people argue that the first movie didn't have a plot, and it was kind of dry. But if "Fifty Shades Darker" doesn't have a plot, I've started going crazy. It resembles a lot of the book, as there are also minor differences. It has humor, intense drama, and of course, cute romance scenes.
I saw it with my best friend and her boyfriend. Although I was third-wheeling it up, it wasn't awkward or bad because of my close relationship with the both of them. During all the intense parts, Kady and I would grab each other's arm. During all the funny and relatable parts, we would look over at each other and then start laughing. That's one of the best experiences you can have with one of your best friends.
After the movie, I asked her boyfriend, who hated the first movie if he liked it. He said it was a lot better than the first movie. I'm not sure that he likes it, but one thing for sure is that he liked the second film a lot more than he liked the first. Women love the erotica romance film because it's risqué, but you also get to see just how much Ana and Christian love each other and watch their relationship grow. A majority of us women dream of a love that Christian and Ana share. And apparently, it's not too bad for the guys if her boyfriend was willing to tag along, even though he hated the first movie.
It took two years for us to get the second film, but the word on the street is that the third installment is almost finished. This means that the wait won't be nearly as long and will probably be released next February. I highly recommend going and checking it with your boyfriend maybe as a Valentine's Day date. You could even grab some of your girls, and go see "Fifty Shades Darker" for Galentine's.
