There's no way you can say you haven't heard the catchiest bop of the year, 'Cake By the Ocean' by DNCE. What you probably didn't know is that their front-man is former Jonas Brother Joe Jonas. Since the single dropped, CBTO has won numerous awards and has just recently became three times platinum in the U.S. After traveling to several states with Y100 and the Jingle Ball tour, DNCE did several select shows nationally.
After being awarded MTV's Best New Artist, they announced a tour with Selena Gomez. This resulted in a growing fanbase. They released word of their brand new album being released November 18th. Now that it's nearing the release date, the world is buzzing about whether it'll blow up or flop. Every week or so they've randomly dropped songs.
Singles like 'Body Moves' and 'Good Day' are some of the few. They rock a very groovy but also hip-hop type feel and it's a breath of fresh air with the pop hype that's been going on. Their stage presence is of something I have never seen before. Their bassist, Cole Whittle, prances around the stage in clown-like attire while their guitarist, JinJoo, never fails to wear giant sunglasses and colored hair. Joe just does his beautiful thing while Jack pounds away at the drums. If you've never heard of them, you will soon.
