If someone came up to you at any given moment- whether it be now or when you’re 40 years old- and asked, “what do you want to be when you grow up?” How would you respond?
First things first, if you haven’t seen the #thriveon video I’m going to post the video here, so you can see where I’m coming from.
At what point in your life do you stop chasing your dream? At what point, at what age, do you let yourself believe that it’s okay for you to settle?
What point in your life do you convince yourself that it’s okay that you never achieved your initial goal? Your dream- because we all have them.
Whether we realized it when we were five, or thirty years old, we all at some point, have always wished or wanted to achieve something that we never did.
Sometimes we tell ourselves that we will one day.
Some day I’ll play the piano.
When I’m older I’ll have my dream job.
Too many times do we prolong what we want. We put other things first- our jobs we don't want, our children, etc. because we feel like it's what we are supposed to do. Which isn’t always a bad thing. But we shouldn’t always let that be the case for too long. It's never too late. Don't let society's obsession with a time limit on life affirm your doubting minds that it's too late to achieve what you've always wanted.
It's never too late, you never stop growing as a person, so don't let age or the urge to follow normalcy and get things done on a timeline hold you back from what you really want out of your life.
