Why We Love Mark Sloan

And why we miss this silver fox.

Why We Love Mark Sloan

I think we all owe Shonda Rimes a major shout-out for not only her creation of "Grey's Anatomy," but for her incredible choice in characters. We have the classic Derek Shepherd, the badass Alex Karev, Army babe Owen Hunt, and blue-eyed beauty Avery... But we somehow seem to forget about the silver fox Mark Sloan. Mark was ultimately the man who tore apart his best friend's marriage after sleeping with Addison, BUT we can put that aside for now. He was also the man who adored Lexie Grey, and we all lost apart of ourselves when Mark had to say goodbye to Lex in the plane crash episode. (Spoiler alert.) We all love Mark for a variety of reasons, but here's to name a few. This is for all the ladies who adore that McSteamy like no other!

1. The way he looked at Lexie.

We would all get the chills when Mark and Lexie would even look at each other. I mean when he looked at her the world stopped. This alone would give me the feels! I definitely didn't yell at my TV "WHY AM I SINGLE?" during these scenes...definitely not.

2. How amazing he looked in that towel.

In context, Mark was sleeping with his best friend's wife, however, we can't forget how broken he was at this point in the show! We have to look past that and just really appreciate this. Does anyone have zoom?

3. His smile.

Check out those pearly whites! Simply perfect. I know I wasn't the only one eagerly waiting for him to smile throughout the show.

4. His sarcastic sense of humor.

If you were feeling down, count on Mark to cheer you up. He made everyone laugh with his sarcasm and brutal honesty. I'll take it!

5. The name "McSteamy."

Just his name gets you feeling some type of way.

6. The way he looked up to Derek.

Mark was always a little jealous of Derek's life. He often seemed one step behind Derek, but who doesn't love the underdog? Mark had this adorable way of looking up to Derek and turning to him for any advice. I mean it was painful when Derek had to say goodbye to Mark, and I am more than sure it took a lot out of all of us.

7. His friendship with Callie.

Mark and Callie went through it all. Whether it being a daughter, their faded love life, or the many tiffs they had throughout the show; no matter what they went through, they came out the other side on top. Their relationship is serious goals.

8. How he always wanted to be a father.

That McSteamy had it all going on, he even wanted to be a father. When he found out Callie was pregnant he was over the moon! It could not have been any more adorable.

9. Mark's goodbye to Lex.

Even talking about it brings tears to your eyes. The way that they looked at each other will never compare to another goodbye scene in any other drama film. That stupid plane crash ruined everything!

10. Let's just focus on this devious smile.

11. For always being there for his friends and family. We love you Mark!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
