James Bond has been a staple of the film industry for over 50 years. It is a rare thing when a franchise can enthrall generations of movie goers, but it comes from how great a character Ian Fleming developed in his books so many years ago. The films success can also be attributed to the co-producers that brought Bond to the big screen Albert Broccoli and Harry Saltzman. From "Dr. No," in 1962 to "Spectre," which is coming to theaters November of this year, Bond has been the agent that inspires people to be more then just the average person. Bond has been spectacular regardless of what actor plays him, he is a character that is larger than any actor, even though the casting for Bond has been particularly spot on.
Bond is a fearless, confident, courageous, hero and that is what most people want to be. He's a bad ass.The fact that he can shoot a bad guy then make love to a beautiful woman is something that people find attractive. Like Raymond Chandler said "Every man wants to be James Bond and every woman wants to be with him."
Bond always has the best technology. He has lasers and cars that shoot missiles. People envy that, it is like getting the new iPhone multiplied by a billion. James Bond having new gadgets all the time shows that he is moving with the times, even sometimes ahead of the times.
Honestly, one of the best qualities Bond has is that he is classy. He can be in a suit that costs thousands of dollars while also being an efficient spy. His never ending ability to show the world that you can sleep around with beautiful women and still be a class act is amazing. Even though Bond is a bit of a whore, he seems to always be respectful of the women that he has interactions with. James Bond is a true gentlemen.
Being an unapologetic, classy, self confident person is a big draw. The James Bond movies are a lot of fun and have a lot of magic behind them. They are historically significant because they show the transition from the Cold War to the present day. They show how much we as a society have changed and that makes it beautiful in a way. James Bond gives the average person hope that one person can truly make a difference.
