Why We All Want To Be Jessa From Girls

Many would describe Jessa as the free spirited, always moving, bohemian girl on the show. She brings a certain unexpected quality to each episode and always keeps everyone around her on their toes. Her personality is both magnetic and alarming, as she is uncontrollable. But all of these qualities, good or bad, are just a few reasons why we secretly want to be her.

1. She, literally, just doesn't care.

Many of us try to be that cool girl we so badly wish we were, but the truth is, we care. Jessa lives each day like it's an adventure and doesn't care what anyone around her is doing. The streets of New York are her domain. I am Jessa, hear me roar!

2. She knows what guys want, and it sounds like it's her.

Forget responsibility and talking about your major; Jessa knows what guys really want are girls that will keep them guessing. Girls who are exciting and, yes, a tad flaky. Our eagerness to be liked by guys can blind us from what really is attractive -- adventure!

3. She is the trendiest person alive.

Can you imagine a life without Facebook? Living in the moment, Jessa connects with the person and the experiences in front of her. We can only imagine this kind of life. Maybe that's what life was like in the '80s, but definitely not now.

4. She's so hip I could puke

We try to keep up with the styles that are "in," but Jessa wears whatever she wants. Whether it be long skirts and high heels, or a messy bun with a kimono, she is workin' it. Her '60s and '70s inspired wardrobe proves that we should all just wear what we like, no matter what people say.

5. She stands up for women and our rights!

Even though she is flaky and uncontrollable, Jessa is in touch with the daily news and the issues that are going on around her. Her intelligence may shock viewers, as she is not in school, but she is wise beyond her years. Picking up a newspaper every once in a while wouldn't hurt us, either.

6. If you go to her for advice, or try to confide in her, she will judge you.

She will give tough love like it's her job because she is a realist. She has traveled and knows the world is a harsh place. Hannah's problems are pretty ridiculous, anyway, so we know she's probably right.

7. She deflects.

This is not the best quality to have, but she ends up never being bothered about her feelings. Her friends hardly hound her if they don't see her for a few days. Marnie can't stand her sometimes, because she just doesn't wear her emotions on her sleeve.

8. She'll smack you back into reality.

A friend that isn't afraid to use violence is a pretty dedicated confidante to have.

9. She can admit to the weird things that go on in all of our heads.

Understanding human nature and all its puzzles is a quality she has continued to possess through each season. Her honesty and ability to sound like a therapist is baffling, and we all kind of wish we had the guts to say half the things Jessa does.

10. Yes, she screws up sometimes, but damn that bun is perfect.

Jessa continues to be flawless and keep it real during all of life's messes and hiccups.

We all want that personality and confidence that attracts everyone to us, guys and friends alike. Jessa isn't perfect but even so, her aura keeps people coming back time and time again. We sometimes lack both honesty and adventure, making us lose ourselves. Living a life of happiness is most important, and this is why we all secretly wish we were Jessa -- floating through every day, and having long, luscious hair that people would literally die for.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
