Why do you celebrate Valentine's Day? Why is it that you need one special day to spoil your special someone? Shouldn't you make a woman feel like a queen every day? Should you not express your love every day of your time together?
I am not a fan of Valentine's Day. It is not because I am single or because I am a Valentine's Scrooge. It is because I feel like it should be a day like any other. When you are in a special relationship with someone, every day should be Valentine's Day.
Relationships lately have become built up on all these expectations from Hallmark movies and Disney love stories. One does not follow what a relationship really means. A relationship is not built on flowers and chocolates, it is built on love and the feelings you have for one another. Today's generation has become a generation of material things. I guess you can just call me old-fashioned, but I am one who builds a relationship on love and connection.
I believe in the guys who still pray and hold your hand. I believe in the guys who love their mother. I believe in the guys who know how to treat their women with respect and treat them like a queen. I may have been born in the wrong era but I must say that things use to be much simpler.
Where has the time gone where a man tries to sweep a woman off her feet? This is apparently a time where a man believes that he can buy his way into a woman's heart. What happened to the days where a picnic and time well spent was the "best date ever?"
Everyone has begun to settle. There is a word that I live by: serendipity. Serendipity meaning the luck that takes form in valuable or pleasant things that one does not usually look for. Why can someone wait for the guy? I wait. Because in the most serendipitous moment. my prince will come and sweep me off my feet with a hike and picnic. Because let's be honest, who doesn't want a man that can take a girl to enjoy God's creation.
