Why Tipping Matters

You are the difference between someone paying their bills and not starving.

Why Tipping Matters

If you do not have enough money to tip, then you do not have enough money to go out to eat or order delivery. That's right, your tip is apart of what you pay for your meal and if you do not have enough money to pay the person who waits on you hand and foot, or brings the food right to your home, so you do not have to waste your gas, then you do not have enough for that food. Your server or delivery driver literally makes their wages through their tips, so even one group of people does not tip, or tips poorly it could be disastrous for them!
Tipping is not even hard you guys, if your server was good or even outstanding you should tip them eighteen to twenty percent, and if your food gets there before or even at the time the restaurant told you it would be there then you should tip eighteen to twenty percent as well. If for whatever reason your food is super late getting there or your server is just awful to you, the lowest you should tip is ten percent, that way they still make money, and trust me you tipping ten percent will make them realize, "Oh, crap, I did something wrong, better buck up and make sure that does not happen again." These people literally live off your tips. It is honestly not even hard to tip ten percent, you take the total of your meal and move the decimal over one place to the left and there you go ten percent! Then to make it twenty percent, you take the ten percent and multiply it by two, easy enough right?
A GRATUITY TIP AND DELIVERY FEE ARE NOT TIPS!!! I will say it again a gratuity tip and a delivery fee are not tips. I am sure you have seen a gratuity tip added onto your bill if you dine with a party of eight or more at a restaurant, and I do not know of a single restaurant that does not have a delivery fee. Let me properly explain what these are, the are convenience fees. You may now be asking why a restaurant is charging you a convenience fee when you are paying them to dine there. In the sense of a gratuity tip, it exists to make up for the fact that you have a large party who is taking up a lot of room and it is to replace the potential business lost or not properly attended to because your server was making sure you all were happy. A gratuity tip does not go to your server. I will say that again, A GRATUITY TIP DOES NOT GO TO YOUR SERVER! What happens is that it goes to the company and is then divvied up to EVERYONE who worked that shift, whether or not they actually served you. Your server will only make two or three cents off a gratuity tip, and that is not really fair to them for having served your entire party for two or more hours only to get two or three cents out of it. A delivery fee works similarly, especially with small businesses, the delivery fee is what makes up the payroll so the owners can actually pay the drivers an hourly wage. Just remember by not tipping your server or delivery driver is losing money, and it is because of you.
When I say servers and delivery drivers literally live off your tips, I am not exaggerating at all. The hourly wage for a server or delivery driver is $2.15-5, and most make closer to the $2.15 mark, so when you tip, that means they get to pay their bills. Before taxes working a forty hour work week at $2.15 an hour means they make $86, that is $344 a month, and $4,128 a year, and that is all before taxes. Federal law says for a single person family to be considered under the poverty line they have to make less than $12,000 a year, so without your tips, every server and delivery driver is automatically beneath the poverty line. Your tips can literally raise them out of that, and allow them not to need welfare and prevent child poverty. So please, please tip your servers and delivery drivers, only you can help. Do your part.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
