The widely popular CW television show, "Supernatural," has recently revealed that its character Chuck is God. Of course, it is risky to have a person play God on a TV show. It has to be done in a particular way so that fans won’t be disappointed or offended.

On the show, God was portrayed as an all-loving and all-knowing person. He has a human body and goes by the name Chuck. "Supernatural" portrayed God perfectly through the character, Chuck, who is an easy-going guy who enjoys the luxuries of human life. He indulges in the food and the TV and blogging about cats. Chuck chose to live on Earth with his creations. He watched the world go on from the perspective of a human, but still he was God.

Chuck is a character who is a writer. This job is the perfect job for a man who is God because writers are creators. God is a creator of human life and nature and everything around us. Therefore, a writer was the perfect everyday career choice to appoint to Chuck.

What makes this portrayal so perfect? Chuck was truly all-loving. When asked what he did while he hid for eons, he replied that he dated some girls and he dated some guys. Nowadays, some people argue that God condemns gays and others argue that God loves everyone no matter what their sexuality is. By choosing to portray Chuck as a bi-sexual man, "Supernatural" made a risky statement, but a great one that promoted love and equality for people of all sexualities.

The show may have gotten some backlash for making this choice, but it definitely shows that society is changing and beliefs are changing as well. This choice is raising awareness about the LGBT community and it attempts to link religion to that community and say that if God is an all-loving person, then he wouldn’t condemn the LGBT community. He is also portrayed as all-loving because when he meets an atheist man, he doesn’t look down on him or resent him for not believing in God. He simply says “I believe in me.” He befriends this atheist who turns out to be one of his favorite people. Thus, by showing love to someone who isn’t even his follower, Chuck showed that he is all-loving just as God is believed to be.

The explanation for why Chuck/God was hidden for eons also made the portrayal of God a perfect one. He was asked by the main character Dean how he could watch plagues kill millions of people and wars in God’s name go on for years. Chuck explained that at first, he tried to fix everything wrong with the Earth. He answered prayers, and healed people, and fixed things. However, he eventually learned that he can’t fix everything and heal everyone. Humanity’s nature was destructive. There would be life, but people would always contract illnesses and kill each other. There would be love, but there would also be hate. This was inevitable. Chuck could step in and make things right again, but as soon as he righted a wrong, another wrong would arise. Therefore, he had to step back and let humanity just be what it is. He was disappointed, but there seemed to be no use in constantly trying to fix his creations.

Chuck’s reasoning for why he can’t always answer prayers also makes him the perfect representative of God. Chuck explained that it’s better to not answer every single prayer. Some prayers are genuine and have good intentions, but others come with repercussions that could worsen life.

Overall, theportrayal of God on "Supernatural" through Chuck was perfect. Chuck embodied the qualities that God is believed to have. The portrayal was not offensive, and it was satisfying. It was a unique decision for the producers to portray God as a human man. After all, he is the Almighty and humans are not almighty. However, this decision was a successful one.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
