Not everyone in the world can relate to me when I say that I love spending time with my siblings or that I genuinely miss them when I’m away from home. And that’s a shame. Whether you are an only child or simply never formed a good bond with your sibling you will never know what you’re missing out on in life. I honestly would be a totally different person if I didn’t my brother and sister in my life and there is so many ways how they have played an important role in my life. Anyone out there that appreciates their siblings can relate to me when it comes to this list.

They are the best listeners

When you live with someone you’re going to want to vent to them sometimes and siblings are perpetually there for that. Whether it’s just hanging out in the kitchen making messy midnight snacks or when they are held captive in your car because you have to drive them to school they will listen to you ranting about anything and everything. And the put up with it because they know they need to vent to you sometimes too.

You connect with them on a different level

Siblings have to have some sort of special sense or telepathy, because there is no way it is normal to think the same thing as another person more than half of the time. I know people would ask me and my brother the same question and we both would give the same word-for-word answer without even knowing what the other was asked that same question. It’s sort of strange sometimes. But it does have its perks when it comes to playing jokes on someone, because you can just look at each other and know what to do without saying a single word.

Being goofy with them is great

Growing up in the same house as someone you become pretty comfortable around them, but you also have to be silly sometimes to break up the monotony. I know me and my siblings are always getting into shenanigans just because we are bored or because we want to see how our mom will react. But no matter why, we get to be complete idiots around each other and it’s completely fine, plus we get to have fun doing it.

They are always there for you

I know that if ever really need my siblings at any point in my life they will be there for me. And that’s the best part, because I was just so luckily gifted these people into my life and I never really had to do anything besides not push them down the stairs.

I don’t know what I would do without my siblings, and if you are lucky enough to have some don’t ever take them for granted.
