Why Sheetz Is Better Than Wawa

I feel sorry for people who haven't tried Sheetz before in their lives.

I walked into a Wawa once while driving through Eastern Pennsylvania. I walked in and there were a lot of people in there. But, when I walked towards the cash registers, I saw already pre-made Mozzarella sticks in a box. Nah! I left. I couldn't look at the monstrosity.

There is a long standing debate about which gas station/convenience chain is better: Sheetz or Wawa. But, it shouldn't be a debate. Sheetz is better. I am from Eastern Pennsylvania where there are only Sheetz stores and no Wawa. So, am I biased? Yes. 100 percent biased. But, I fully believe that the only reason that people think that Wawa is better is because they haven't tried a Sheetz yet.

Sheetz was founded in 1952 by Bob Sheetz in Altoona, Pennsylvania. He purchased one of his father's five dairy stores and turned it into a quick shop. In 1963, Bob and his brother, Steve, opened up a second store. That's one year before Wawa even opened up their first store.

Sheetz now has over 600 stores in Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, Ohio, and North Carolina with over 17,000 employees employed throughout.

But, that's all business jargon. Sheetz really comes down to win in the quality of food. Sheetz is famous for its MTO (Made to Order) food. You walk in and go straight to the touch screen and order anything from fried Mac and Cheese Bites to Shwingz to the Big Mozz. Literally any kind of food you can think of, Sheetz has it Made to Order for you. What does Wawa have? Hoagies? Cool.

Sheetz has been open for 24 hours a day/7 days a week since 1975. Anytime of day you can satisfy your craving, whether it be Sheetz Bro Coffee, a slushie, or, you know, gas for your car.

Sheetz has a huge fan base and following that doesn't stretch far enough. Sheetz should expand its locations at least further out East to Wawa territory so that people can experience who the real winner is.

What kind of name is Wawa anyways? That sounds like the noise a baby makes when his/her mother takes them inside a Wawa and they can't effectively communicate that what they really wanted was to be taken to a Sheetz. Those poor children, being raised under the wrong allegiance.

Business Insider came out with a video recently tooting the success of Wawa. Oh, if they only knew what a Sheetz was like. I'm no Business Insider, but I am an educated adult whose done a lot of research into the taste of Sheetz' MTO food. It's the clear winner.

Now, I'm really craving some Mozzarella sticks. But, I can't get them. There's no Sheetz on Long Island. Dear whoever owns and operates Sheetz, please set up a location near Hofstra University. Or send me a lifetime supply of Mozz sticks.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
