Let's just get this out there: my sense of humor is about 80 percent offensive references/criticisms, 20 percent bad puns. Consequently, if you're sensitive or easily offended, we probably can't be friends. Don't get me wrong, I don't consider myself a bad person. I just don't take everything as seriously as our hypersensitive society might like.
I'm not saying I'm planning on insulting random strangers for my own amusement or anything, but if we're friends, prepare yourself for some savage mockery. Why? Because if I can joke around with you like that, that means I'm comfortable with you. Take it as a compliment. If I don't semi-constantly insult you, I probably don't know you/like you very much.
Not to mention, humor is an excellent defense mechanism. Problem arises? If the choices are between have an emotional breakdown or crack an ill-timed and slightly inappropriate joke, guess which one I'm choosing? (See: Chandler from Friends)
Not to mention, meeting new people can be hard. Nothing like a solid pun or wise-crack to break the ice.
Some poor saps think we don't realize what we're doing. Let me assure you, we know all too well. At times, it's 100 percent involuntary. We literally cannot help ourselves.
However, you owe us a major thank you for gems such as Anthony Jeselnik, Cyanide&Happiness, and Cards Against Humanity.
You're welcome.
In conclusion, don't judge us too harshly for our savagery; we're only being ourselves.
