Winter Break. It's this reward for getting through finals, whether we rocked them or thought we could have done better than we actually did, we successfully got through the worst five days of the semester in a somewhat sane way. So we go home, see our family, our high school friends and everything we've been deprived of in our college town. During this break we finally get the chance to focus on ourselves rather than grades, organizations, friends and so many other distractions we have in college. After finals wind down and the stress of school disappears, winter break is a chance and an opportunity to wind down and focus on being the best version of yourself that you can be.
We all have been putting off tons of things that are important to ourselves whether its to find an internship, perhaps to finally pick that major, figure out what's important to you, who is important to you, reading that one book you’ve been dying to read, writing in a journal, organizing your life, figuring out what your “passion” is, getting in shape or whatever you’ve been procrastinating because of the distractions in college.
Somebody incredibly wise once told me once told me that to create the best version of yourself you need to take time for yourself to find out who you are and what you like, not what others like and what others think you should be. Winter break is a great time where you can be selfish, give time to yourself, and focus on what we have been procrastinating on during the school year and create the best version of yourself, because once you give time for yourself you’ll notice that you will be more in touch with yourself and be able to give more of yourself to those distractions when we come back to school in the spring semester.
