Candy!
Everybody loves candy! It automatically brings joy when you're feeling down and it brightens up any party or holiday. What's better than an entire month filled with treats (and tricks)? Right now, the stores have been stocked up with Halloween candy since August in preparation for this moment. The candy is not just reserved for the end of the month either, so don't feel bad when you're biting into a fun-sized Butterfinger. There's plenty of candy in the world and this is time to shine!
Nature!
Even Mother Nature enjoys a good treat once a year. The leaves are starting to turn a lovely Halloween orange this month and the nights are getting longer. This is a perfect setting for the spookiest time of the year. With the exciting summer nights behind us, we can enjoy the calm, coolness that is fall. We can also have time to get some more tricks in before winter's snow storms rapidly approach. This is the best time to be outside because of the beauty, not to mention all of the annoying bugs are dead.
Costumes!
Don't pretend like you're too cool to dress up for Halloween! Everyone loves being able to pretend to be something outrageous for one night. However, from the casual Disneybounder to the most intense cosplayers know that the best costumes take time to make. Sure, you could just order something online or get your costume from the store. Everyone knows that the best costumes are home-made. What better way to spend the month of October than perfecting your Halloween get-up?
Movies!
Halloween is not only a good time to spend making epic costumes and shoving your face cull of candy, but it is also a good time to celebrate some really good movies. You might love classic horror movies such as Halloween and Scream during this time of year. There are also non-traditional films out there like Nightmare before Christmas. You might also prefer a goofy Halloween movie such as Hocus Pocus. This writer personally prefers animated Tim Burton movies such as Corpse Bride.
The Spirit!
Let's face it, October is nothing without Halloween. It ties the month together and is the first thing people think about when they hear "October." Halloween is the time for parties, candy and costumes. It is the time for long walks in the woods and ghost stories being told around campfires. The spirit of Halloween is infectious. No one can resist an exciting night of dressing up and eating candy or watching a scary movie in their pajamas. Halloween and October go hand in hand and are almost one in the same as the best time of the year.
