Why My Cousin Is My Best Friend

My Cousin Is The Best Friend I Could Ever Ask For

Why My Cousin Is My Best Friend
Tori Crowley

My little cousin is four years younger than me but she is my best friend. Although she may drive me absolutely crazy some times, she is the person I hold closest to my heart. Our very large family fights a lot but throughout all the fights, she's is the one person I never fight with…unless you count fighting about where to get food.

My family can be very hard to deal with, but the two of us never stop supporting each other. Lies get made up about us by family members but we always know the truth because we tell each other everything. From all the boys to fights with our girl friends, we know it all about each other. I can get one text from her and instantly know her entire mood and that is because I have known her her whole life.

When you meet people in life who become your friends, there's always stuff about them that you do not know because you have to known them their whole life. They may have a big family secret that you never know. Your family shapes who you become as a person whether it is good or bad, but since her family is my family I already know it all.

When new friendships are formed, there is always the awkward phase in the beginning. You all know what I mean by this…where you aren't exactly sur what to say or how to act because you do not know how they will react. Being yourself is something I strongly believe in and with her there was never an awkward phase.

I have literally seen her run around with a diaper on her head and carry her Bear in the Big Blue House blanket around everywhere. She has seen me shart my pants and has helped me when I’m down (literally and figuratively because one New Year’s Eve I fell and ate pavement in front of her house). She has seen me though every awkward phase of life I have gone through including fashion and boys. There is no need for me to fake around her because we have been shoved in a tub together to hurry up and get clean so the next group can get in after a long beach day.

My cousin is one of the strongest people I know. Although she is younger, I look up to her so much and I know she looks up to me. I try to work my butt off so that she can see how much it pays off and to be the perfect role model for her. She is my greatest inspiration and usually the reason I get out of bed in the morning. I spoil her so much so that she knows how to be treated so that no f-boy can come along and break her heart.

The two of us have so many memories that I could not imagine myself without. She makes me who I am. There is no way no how I will be ever to love anyone as much as I love my cousin because she takes up my whole heart.

Sure, I have other friends that have met during my 20 years on this planet, but my cousin will forever be my best friend. I already know she will be the godmother to my first born and will be my maid of honor at my wedding so that she will be by my side when I marry my husband. Whenever I do anything big in life, she is always the first to know which means she knows every detail about me.

My cousin has had it harder than she should in life but there is nothing I would not do for her. I would climb the biggest mountain and cross the biggest ocean if it meant I would see even the slightest bit of a smile on her face. That’s what best friends do and my cousin is my best friend forever and always dude.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
