Why My Roommate Is The Best

She is my person.

So it's finally the first break of the semester. While I stay here on campus and work (I honestly don't mind), the only thing I think about is how will I survive five whole days without my roomie. There have only been six short weeks of school. Well, long to us students. Anyhow six weeks together basically 24/7 and now I'm expected to just be ok with having a whole room to myself. Here is why having a roommate who is also your best friend rocks.

1. Her closet is my closet.

2. I always have someone to laugh with.

3. I never have to eat alone.

4. I always have someone to bum with on Saturdays.

5. Movie nights rule.

6. She understands me on a level others really just don't get.

7. Making food makes us feel like adults together.

8. When either one of us is having a down day, we know just how to get a smile on each others faces.

9. A good friend is always better than therapy. Basically, we always have each other to vent to to.

10. She doesn't let me leave the room looking like I just woke up.

11. She never lets me do anything stupid, and if I do it's not usually alone.

12. Movies and smoothies are our thing.

The list could go on and on. My roommate has been a huge blessing to me. I really can't see myself living with anyone else. I finally understand the feeling of being sad when your roommate goes home for a weekend and so on. As Meredith Grey would say to Christina Yang "You are my person." My roommate is my person. She is the one I would call to help me drag the dead body across the floor. She is just amazing on so many levels I can't explain it. God gave me her and I'm forever grateful for that, because I now have a forever friend.

A friend loves at all times, and a sister is born for a time of adversity.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
