Sometimes we go through our whole lives searching for our best friend. We look high and low, but forget to look back to where we came from. I found my best friend in my mother.
My mother is an inspiration. She has been through all sorts of difficulties in life, and yet I see her push through every obstacle. She always finds a reason to keep going. She always finds a way to give me her absolute best.
My mother is a strong fighter. I've never seen someone stay so strong throughout the trials of this life. She is always ready to do what it takes to do what has to be done.
My mother is loving. She always does what is best for the family. She is always thinking of others. I've seen my mother put herself aside in order to help others numerous times. She cares, and has a beautiful heart for those around her. When there is a fire in her, it cannot be put out.
My mother is always there for me. In the most ridiculous circumstances and in the most serious, my mother has always had an ear to talk to, a shoulder to cry on, and a word of advice to take. There has never been a time when she has turned me away when I needed her.
My mother is wise. The smartest words I've ever heard have come out of the mouth of my mother. Years of experience can make a person who they are. My mother always knows what to say and do. She knows Jesus and the Bible. She knows how to deal with certain people and situations.
My mother is my best friend. I tell my mother everything and we talk every day. Sometimes it's a bad day, and she's there for me. Sometimes it's a great day, and she rejoices with me. There are many laughs and tons of funny stories. There are lots of edifying conversations about life and Jesus. There are loads of movies and stupid TV shows. Plans being made. Food being cooked. Don't get me wrong, it's not a perfect relationship! But I wouldn't have it any other way.
Mama,
You've quite literally been there since day one, and have not left my side ever. I'm sorry that sometimes I forget or take advantage of that. Thank you for all that you've done, all that you're doing, and all that I'm sure you will do. You're the most amazing woman I've ever met. I love you.
