Every girl wants to be like her mother. A mother begins teaching her daughter lessons from the moment she arrives on Earth. Moms teach their daughters everything from how to do their hair to how to love others. My mom has loved and supported me through everything I have ever done, and for that, I am forever thankful.
My mom teaches me to be a better person.
Growing up, I spent all of my time with my mother because I didn't have the best friend I could spend every weekend hanging out with. My mom was there for me. We played board games, watched movies, and cooked all of our favorite recipes. Other girls spent their Saturday nights out with their friends having slumber parties and going to movies. I am so happy I wasn't like these girls because my mom took their place. To any other person, our nights together would have been seen as just normal nights, but they were so much more; she was teaching me lessons I have carried with me. Playing Monopoly and Life, my mom taught me how to manage money. Watching "The Breakfast Club" was her way of teaching me to see the best in people.
My mom supports me in every decision I make.
As a child, I wanted to do everything. I took ballet and played in the school band. She took me to and from every practice and performance without any hesitation. She is my rock and anchor, and even in college, with all the silly decisions I make, she still loves me and supports me. My mom holds her head high and keeps a smile on her face even when I disappoint her and that is something I will never understand. She is the kindest, most loving person I have ever known and I am so blessed to have her as my mother.
My mom has and will continue to love me through everything.
We, as human beings, make mistakes. It happens. There's no avoiding it. My mom has loved me through all of my mistakes. She was there when I was heartbroken over every insignificant boyfriend. She held me while I cried like any best friend would. She was there to hold my hand when I got my first tattoo. My mom took on the role of being my mother and my best friend. I am so blessed to have this woman as my mother.
