Growing up, all I’ve ever been able to count on is my big family. Not only do I have a big family on my mom’s side, but also on my dad’s. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve stopped and looked at the madness of my family, from squeezing past each other in a small kitchen to all my cousins running around causing chaos. With two big families like mine, there is just no way that I wouldn’t absolutely love having a big family.
I love my big family because of all the memories we share. Never has there been a dull moment in any of my family gatherings. I can always count on one of my cousins to say something to make everyone laugh or one of my aunts to mention some sort of gossip. Even our weekend gatherings at my grandma’s house or sitting on the front porch of my aunt’s house in Colorado have turned into the best memories of my life.
Another reason my big family is the best is because of the endless support. There has been so many sports games and accomplishments that my family has been there to support me for. The best thing is knowing that I have an entire team behind me that will always have my back.
If you have a big family, you know that everything isn’t always sunshine and smiles. Having a big family is hard work. There are so many opinions, attitudes, and madness in a big family that everything isn’t always going to run smoothly. I'm not saying there are tons of fights in my family, but we have had our fair share of disagreements, but from this, we learn lessons. Having a big family means tons of opportunities to learn life lesson to carry forever.
I love my big family because of all the advice. I could easily turn to anyone in my family to ask for help with something. Whether it is all my uncles helping work on my car or all my aunts giving me life advice, I have someone I can turn to any time of the day, seven days a week.
I could go on forever about how much I love my big family and why my big family is a blessing. My family is only going to get bigger, and anyone that comes around my family has to love the chaos just as much as I do. I have learned how to stay calm in a crazy environment, how to love unconditionally, and most importantly, how to be proud of whom and where I come from thanks to my incredible, loving, hilarious, and crazy big family.
