Family vacations have always been a tradition in my family. Every summer my mom's side of the family plans a week get-a-way and it has been something I've always enjoyed. This past week we went on a vacation in South Carolina, my favorite state, and it really made my think how blessed I truly am. So here are few of my favorite yearly events that happen one week of my summer.
Traditions
I am a very traditional girl. If anything is done differently, I freak out just a little before collecting myself and moving on to the new twist. Every summer, my family goes to the same place. We cook the same meals, play the same board games, and do the same activities. This is always been something I thrive off of, since I am a traditional girl.
New Adventures
Like I said, my family is traditional but occasionally we throw in something totally new. This year was one of them. The place we stay at only has a pool, basketball court, golf course and fishing so after a few days we get a little hot and stir crazy. This year my cousin suggested we try out a water park in Charleston. So all the cousins pilled up with lots of excitement and drove to the park and had a splash! We made a new tradition for sure!
Family
Family means everything to me. This is one of my favorite times of the year and mainly because I get to spend an entire week with my family. We don't see each other as much as we would like so every time is exciting and there is always a new adventure. Another reason I like my family so much is because they are just so funny. As a little girl, I use to find this embarrassing and some of my cousins still do but it makes for the best memories to share around the dinner table.
All in all, family vacations are something I long for and when they end its a bummer. I look forward to each summer with anticipation of family vacations. When the time finally rolls around, I practically jump up and down. Family will always mean the world to me and I am truly blessed to share these memories and experiences with my aunts, uncles, cousins, and loving grandmother! I'm already counting down the days until next summer!
