After the devastating news of the denial of Kesha's request to withdraw from her contract with SONY Pictures, and primarily Dr. Luke, her abuser, the hashtag #FreeKesha has spread like wildfire over the internet. Fans and other celebrities have come out in all forms of social media to stand in solidarity with Kesha. Beyond the hashtag, something else that marks almost all of the posts is people praising Kesha for her bravery and courage. Kesha and her mother are speaking out against abuse of all kinds, rape and sexual assault, and the unfair treatment Kesha has faced from the music industry.
For anyone who is a victim of abuse it is incredibly difficult to report it, however, it must be a whole different type of impossible for someone who lives in the limelight. For her ability to stand up and set an example, despite all the odds being against her- people everywhere are applauding Kesha.
However, the strength Kesha is exhibiting is not the first time she has displayed this type of admirable behavior though some of the other times have been significantly less noticed. Kesha's persona of an outrageous party girl has often made her a target for haters and caused some bumps in the road for her. This is certainly not the first time Kesha has been dumped on, so in honor of Kesha, let's take a moment to remember the other times Kesha fought for her right to make music
1. Flo Rida spun 'Right Round' her...
With the release and success of 'Right Round' in 2009, Kesha, her friends, and family expected that this song would launch her to fame. I suggest listening to the song again, and also reminding yourself that it was listed within the top 10 of music charts in 19 countries. In the US, it was Flo Rida's second number-one single, in which it stayed at number-one on the charts for six consecutive weeks. The song also broke the record for first-week-sales with 636,000 downloads. With all this in mind, Kesha should've skyrocketed to fame at 23, however, her work on the song was not accredited to her AT ALL, so no one knew the name behind the crazy female vocals on this track.

2. This isn't Kesha's first court-room rodeo
Kesha's former managers from DAS Communications Inc. filed a lawsuit asking for $14 million from Kesha, and $12 million from Dr. Luke for commissions on her RCA Records deal, AKA takes a portion of the profits from her Animal album.
She fired back with a lawsuit against them saying that their contract was void because RCA had acted as an unlicensed talent agent, kinda sneaky, but I like it.
Everything was settled before her second album, so she kept on rocking.

ALL HER SONGS EVER!- songwriter
Based on her accomplishments as a woman in a male-dominated industry, she is a role model to many aspiring female music producers/writers/singers. But beyond her career, her charity work is also inspirational. She held a benefits concert to raise money for victims of a flood (2010) in her hometown, she also won the Humane Society's Wyler Award for her work with animal rights and vegetarianism and is open about her bisexuality and her involvement with LGTBQ rights.
She is an ordained minister and has performed legal commitment ceremonies for couples of all sexualities, and has even been quoted saying she won't get married until everyone can. During the peak of Dr. Luke's abuse, she openly went to rehab for her eating disorder, which was incredibly humble of her and encouraged her fans to get help for themselves if they needed it. In the same vain, her allegations against Dr. Luke will hopefully encourage people yet again, to come forward when they need assistance.
So, basically, Kesha is a 'Warrior' of her own, (just like her album haha) and not someone to mess with, because she'll just bounce right back!
