There are so many "celebrities" out there. It's a simple fact. There. Are. So. Many.
They're your typical movie stars and your singers. However, with the rise of social media, there's also YouTubers and Viners. The last two have changed what it means to be famous.
Jerome Jarre began his journey on Vine in 2013. I don't think he realized the impact he was going to have just by making people smile and going against social norms.
Jerome encourages his viewers to step out of their comfort zone by stepping out of his comfort zone. He goes around New York City, and other areas as well, walking up to strangers and doing crazy things in the middle of the city.
Last year, he tweeted to post an Instagram of double chins. Completely unedited for everyone to see. I was like, "no way." I didn't want people to see me like that. When I saw other people do it, though, I then said, "ah who cares" and posted it. Let me tell you, it was the most horrific double chinned selfie I've ever taken, but by posting it, not only did I stop caring what others thought of me, I took yet another step out of my comfort zone.
All Jerome Jarre wants to do is make the world a better and happier place. He cares about making people happy. He said that he tweets in all caps not because he's screaming but because he's happy.
Jerome Jarre is unlike any other "celebrity." He uses his power for good. In a recent Facebook post, he talks about how most "celebrities" promote "crappy products" simply for money. He goes on to talk about how he wishes our "influencers would be more responsible with their power" because then together, we can make it cool to promote organic fresh foods instead of the processed junk we get from Taco Bell and McDonald's.
We need more people like Jerome Jarre in our world because he doesn't care about materialistic items; he genuinely just cares about being happy and making the world a better place.
